Alex specialises in criminal law and has extensive experience both prosecuting and defending cases in the Crown Court while in private practice. He has developed a strong understanding of the disclosure process from both prosecution and defence perspectives.

During a secondment, Alex acted as a reviewing lawyer for the Crown Prosecution Service. In practice, he has drafted Section 8 applications and has been responsible for reviewing Public Interest Immunity (PII) material and unused material during live trials.

Outside of the law, Alex is the author of Defending the Guilty and is the co-creator of the BBC2 comedy of the same name. He also writes for Amazon's The Mallorca Files.
